Ranger/Monk: ascention help - Guild Wars Forums

Hi guys,
being a ranger/monk I can't really figure out how to do the final ascention fight against my mirror. I have tried many combos, but no success so far.
Please, can any of you help me out pass that fight and give me any suggestion on how to configure my skills?

Put these on your skills bar...

Every Beastmastery Nature Ritual you have, then all your other Nature Rituals. Finally take Poison arrow. Do NOT take Troll Unguent.

The Mirror will cast every one of those rituals first before attacking you, so just run up to him and poison him and keep shooting him while he does that. You will get enough lead over him, damage wise to kill him before he can kill you if you just stand there shooting him till the death.

or load up on arrow skills, ONLY healing springs and troll unguent for healing. Take distracting shot. Run up to him so he swaps to the axe (meaning he can only use healing springs and troll unguent). healing springs will be impossible for him to cast. Every time you see him rise in the air to cast troll, use distracting shot. Use troll if you get down to half health. Worked for me and my bf

I have a R/N and did exactly that...all beastmastery/rituals, poison arrow, healing springs...Did exactly what you said and it worked like a champ! Thanks

I'm a Mes/Ele and with backfire, my mirror dropped like a rock. But a friend of mine is a Ranger/Monk and she's been having a fit trying to beat the mirror. So tonight I offered to help and had it beat about the third combination I tried. Much of which was the above and things I gleaned (sp) from the Mo/Ranger threads.

Here's the combo I used, and I've never played a ranger:

Charm Animal, Edge of Extinction, Fertile Season, Predatory Season, Symbiosis, Balthzaar's Spirit (that's spirit not aura or whatever), Retribution, Apply Poison.

Tips:
-- Cast Balthzaar's Spirit and Retribution before you step on the last stone to light it up. Let your energy regen to full. (She had 31 energy, and 480 life)
-- Once the energy is back to max, cast Apply Poison and wait until its about 24 then touch the last step and skip the scene.
-- Immediately!! Hit TAB to auto target the bad guy and Spacebar to start attacking, he'll be busy casting the spirit spells

At some point, he'll finish cast apply poison and start shooting at you, but at this point he's normally down 1/4 or 1/2 and you're at full. Apply poison will try to blink off once, wait til its almost out and cast it again. Towards the end of the fight, it will probably start blinking again, resist the urge to cast and keep shooting you should take him down before the poison wears off.

And that's how a ranger newb beat the mirror.

BTW I set her beast mastery to 0, Smiting at 9, Wilderness at 8
